International Stakeholder Webinar on "Phosphorus in Agricultural Systems"
22nd April 2021 (15h00 - 17h00 CEST)
Ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues,
We warmly invite you to an international stakeholder webinar on phosphorus efficiency in agriculture with an emphasis on pig and chicken husbandry. Phosphorus is a finite element and essential to all forms of life. Its sustainable usage and application across agricultural production systems requires greater attention. Balancing the phosphorus cycle within farming systems is crucial to achieve a sustainable & resilient livestock farming, to maintain competitiveness of European agri-food production and to preserve soil and water ecosystems. In the framework of the ERA-NET PEGaSus project, the stakeholder webinar will take place on 22 April 2021 to discuss current results in phosphorus research dedicated to feeding strategies, animal physiology and genetics, soil agroecosystems, re-use and recycling options, measures of farmers’ economic performance, legislative aspects on manure management, and governance/policy instruments. The webinar will be a strategic exchange between researchers and farmers, breeders, feed industry, civil society and practitioner organizations, and policy makers. The webinar will be held in English.
Looking forward to an informative workshop,
The PEGaSus consortium
